Project Profile: Parking Lot Lighting Transforms Car Sales Lot

In the competitive world of auto sales, the importance of impeccable lighting cannot be overstated. A well-lit dealership not only enhances visibility and security but also elevates the overall customer experience. By standing out with superior lighting, dealerships not only attract attention but also convey a commitment to excellence. Moreover, embracing energy-efficient solutions not only aligns with environmental consciousness but also contributes to long-term cost savings.

The Challenge:

An auto dealer in Central Illinois was expanding their business with a new lot addition. Previously owned vehicles can be less eye-catching than a new car straight off the factory line, but the owner knew that quality lighting would help his inventory stand out from nearby dealerships’ vehicles. He decided to invest in bright lighting for the new lot and upgrade the existing parking lot lighting. In addition to better visibility of the inventory, the business stood to benefit from efficient LED lighting with a long lifespan.

Our Solution:

The Contractor worked with the auto dealer owner to identify the desired outcome. The Contractor collaborated with Springfield Electric’s Lighting Solutions team and local lighting representative to outline the lighting needs and timeline. We then worked to develop a lighting solution that met the specific needs of the car dealership.

Springfield Electric supplied new fixtures for the original lot, as well as fixtures and poles for the new parking lot, matching the height of the poles for a uniform look. The team selected RAB fixtures that are specifically designed for car sales lot lighting and provide high foot-candle levels (a measure of light intensity).

The Results:

After:

The auto dealer’s new lighting brightly illuminates their vehicles, increasing the attractiveness of their inventory for potential customers. Each fixture has a 100,000-hour lifespan, and the increased efficiency of LED lights also means the business has lower energy costs per fixture

Ready for an LED Upgrade?

LED lighting has a much longer lifespan, requires less maintenance and uses less energy than fluorescent lighting. Appropriate lighting can have a strong effect on employee mood and productivity, workplace safety, and – in this case – more attractive inventory.
